Global CNC Solutions Celebrates Opening of New Facility

June 13, 2006 - Global CNC Solutions, a newly established producer of precision manufactured components for various industries including defense, aerospace, medical, automotive, and construction equipment, celebrated its establishment on Friday, June 9, 2006, at its new 10,000-square-foot location in Commerce Industrial Center, 371 Marpan Lane.

Global CNC Solutions opened in Tallahassee in July 2005 in leased space in Hamilton Park and has grown to nine high-quality, high-wage manufacturing jobs in nine months, with expansion to 15 jobs planned over the next four to six months. Recently, Global CNC constructed a 10,000-square-foot facility in Commerce Industrial Center. Jobs and facilities investment of this home-grown manufacturing company totals $1.8M.

Additionally, the company serves as the temporary production site for Danfoss Turbocor's compressor parts manufacturing. Global CNC brings to Tallahassee a much sought-after resource for local manufacturers – machining of precision parts. “We learned of Global CNC through the EDC’s First Focus program. Now, we don’t have to travel back and forth to California to monitor parts production. We can drive across town,” said Craig Kirkland, director of engineering for Talla-Tech, Inc., a local manufacturer of rugged hand-held computers.

The Economic Development Council of Tallahassee/Leon County, Inc. (EDC) assisted Global CNC with its application for and receipt of Business Equipment Sales Tax Refund for the purchase of high-tech, highly expensive CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines that are the foundation of the work performed by the company. “I am very appreciative of both the Chamber and the EDC for their assistance in getting this business off the ground and the many contacts we have made through our involvement,” said David Denton, president of Global CNC Solutions.

Global CNC has been involved in the EDC’s Manufacturing Roundtable and will serve as an on-site training facility beginning fall 2006 for students entering the newly established Lively Technical Center Manufacturing Technician program. Bill Law, Chairman of the EDC states, “The economic and workforce development community, through the First Focus on Local Business program, continues to assist local employers in expanding facilities and jobs in targeted industry sectors.”

Global CNC Solutions’ establishment in Tallahassee/Leon County involves capital investment of $700,000 and an initial payroll of $380,000. “Precision parts machining is a highly technical profession. We are recruiting and training within the region and look forward to our involvement in growing a viable workforce for this sector,” Denton said
